Denali Caribou
Betty Sederquist photographed this magnificent caribou while traipsing around the tundra in Denali National Park & Preserve in Alaska. At the time she had a six-week-old infant in a baby carrier on her chest, her cameras and tripod on a daypack on her back, and occasionally her little girl would yowl like an hungry kitten. The caribou, consumed by curiosity at these strange sounds of baby, approached her slowly from the rear while she was focused on the magnificence of the great peak Denali. By the time she turned around, the caribou was almost too close for her telephoto lens. This is one of a series.
