Black bear, Glacier Bay

From a relatively safe "platform" aboard a skiff just offshore from this black bear, Betty went eye to eye with this grass-munching bruin at Dundas Bay in Glacier Bay National Park when she led a 1999 photography trip to Alaska. She's led trips to Southeast Alaska every year since then. During the same trip Betty spent many hours with humpback whales in Icy Strait, near Glacier Bay, Alaska. View a few of these images here.
