Betty Sederquist has been photographing people of all kinds for more than 30 years, cherishing the beauty of people, regardless of age. Having photographed for books and magazines for most of her career, she brings that photojournalistic immediacy and spontaneity to her images, nearly always using natural light to showcase her subjects to their best advantage, although she also produces carefully posed images when the need arises.
In addition she offers extensive experience in digital post-processing, so that each image is the best it can be. Depending on client preferences, she can offer minimal or extensive retouching, beautiful black and white/sepia effects and much, much more.
For weddings, Betty especially likes to focus on the Coloma Lotus Valley east of Sacramento; the lovely valley is the site of numerous wedding venues. She works in conjunction with two talented women, Janet Arnold and Betsy Waller. Janet, from nearby Folsom, has quickly gained a lively, word of mouth reputation for her carefully done senior portraits. Ever the professional, she handles large events with ease. Betsy lives a few miles from the Coloma Lotus Valley; an experienced wedding photographer, she also photographs high school teams, families and seniors. She is particularly adept at photographing large groups and children with special needs. Either or both women would be part of a wedding package, depending on the size of the wedding. A wedding package typically includes an engagement photo session, two wedding photographers using top-of-the-line digital equipment on the day of the wedding available from one to two hours before the ceremony until the end of the reception, 200 4x6 prints (often culled from more than 700 images), a disc with the 200 photos suitable for 4x6 printing (perfect for scrapbooking or sharing via email with friends and family), a formal leatherbound album with 30 high-quality 8x10 prints or an informal "book" featuring a magazine-style layout, plus a large print in sizes up to 20x24 inches. For an additional fee, consider beautiful canvas wraps. A deposit is required to reserve the date.
